Lifestyle

The outbreak of Coronavirus has been life changing for many. To say it’s been a crazy time is an understatement. Being away from our families and friends, and everything we know to be ‘normal’ has been a challenge for everyone. There’s been many dark moments during the Coronavirus crisis but it’s the little moments of hope, positivity and joy that have kept us going. Here’s a round-up of some of our favourite positive news from around the world during lockdown.

 #YomeCorono

Here in Spain, we’ve been inspired by the amazing #YomeCorono movement on social media – people from all over Spain and across the globe are coming together to raise awareness around Coronavirus and help to stop its spread. Join thousands of citizens, celebrities and influencers and help stop the spread of the virus. Its anthem also holds a special place in people’s hearts, reading: “I want to hug you, when it’s all over” – something we’re sure everyone is feeling right now. More about yomecorono you can read here.

Captain Tom Moore

Over in the UK, a 100 year old man, Captain Tom Moore, raised over £32 million for the NHS – the National Health System in the UK. He did this by walking 100 lengths of his 25 metre garden to celebrate his 100th birthday and in honour of the wonderful healthcare workers who cared for him during his cancer treatment. The people of Great Britain got behind Tom and supported his goal to raise an incredible sum of money to help keep their beloved healthcare system afloat during these hard times. It just shows the power that one man and a collective spirit can have. Read about this achievement here.

One World Together At Home

Over in the USA one of our favourite artists, Lady Gaga, organised a world concert to raise funds for Global Citizen. The #TogetherAtHome concert saw the likes of Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Lizzo, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift sing beautiful songs live, as well as many artists your mum and dad would love! Audiences at home from across the globe loved the line up and got together to raise a staggering $128 million in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Listen to the One World Together At Home album here.

Run For Heroes

All over the world people have been using their daily exercise allowance to do the Run For Heroes challenge. You have to run 5km, donate 5 to support your countries healthcare workers and then nominate 5 people to do the same. It’s a great way to get fit and raise money for charity too. Make sure you spread positivity and love during this extraordinary time and continue doing it afterwards too. Let us know your favourite positive news from lockdown.
